John Carpenter's own music for his Escape from L.A., Halloween, and Vampires is versatile and atmospherically pleasing. David Cronenberg is represented twice and in two distinctively different styles, as Michael Kamen's creepy orchestra for The Dead Zone contrasts with Howard Shore's metallic and darkly romantic strains for Crash.
