"I was expecting the original artists and was disappointed that some songs were not the originals."
What they don't tell you...

"It's one thing to have to read between the lines...another when there are no lines provided.
The CD is called 25 Best Hits of the 1950's and the artists shown are the original acts with the hits. What's missing is that many of these (perhaps all) are not the original hit recording implied. There are a lot of tracks recorded from concert performances and some that might be studio recordings, though not the best seller version I had expected.
I have to give the CD some credit though for putting together a nice collection of varied material and performances deserving of the budget price.
Buyer beware, or buyer be only fiarly satisfied."
Unoriginal oldies

"The cover and the song listings were misleading -- I thought I was getting original artists. These are wannabees that don't really make it, but it would have cost more time and energy to return this than it was worth."
Recordings are disappointing

"Many of these songs are not the original recordings. Some of the recordings are not of great quality. The best thing about this CD is the song selection. My little kids still love it for dancing around the living room, but Mommy was a bit disappointed."
Horrible Recordings

"It's true that the songs are amoung the best of the 50's. BUT the recordings are definitely not from the 50's. The recordings sound like they are from Rock & Roll revival shows which would be OK if you were aware of that when you bought the CD. BUT the worse part is that many of the tracks sound like they were recorded on a portible cassette player - with a broken mike - by someone at the refreshment stand. Garbagio, complete waste of money!"
