"This 3-CD set from Sony Music covers so many different genres of music that it almost makes you dizzy. Few people will probably be interested in every track in this large collection, but there's plenty of stuff to like.
What makes this collection such a treasure is the inclusion of some hard-to-find songs, a few of which appear here exclusively. Mary Chapin Carpenter's "Christmastime In the City" was recorded back in 1990 or 1991, but has never been issued on CD before now. The same with Darden Smith's "Christmas In September," which dates to the recording sessions for TROUBLE NO MORE in 1990.
Several tracks here, including Rosanne Cash's "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" and Judy Collins' "Little Road to Bethlehem," were previously released on a compilation called ACOUSTIC CHRISTMAS, which is now out-of-print, so this CD puts them back into print.
I can't comment as to the scarcity of all the tracks in the set, as I'm not a huge fan of most of the artists, but if you're a fan of any of these artists, check out this collection -- you might find a Christmas treat for yourself."
