"Afterdark London is a "Must-Have" for those that appreciate the jazz aspect of the Deep House sound. At this point, the only other Afterdark I own is San Francisco.
This version is like a cousin of AD:SF. It's a lot smoother, and has a great deal more jazz/soul infleuence. It feels like the vocals are a greater focus than San Fran as well.
Both discs are very good and set a very discernable mood for the listener.
I could easily see listening to AD:SF when one is getting ready for the evening and then putting in AD:London when the evening is winding up.

"the worst of the afterdark series. followed closely by afterdark:paris
if that's what i had to listen to, i wouldn't go out afterdark. i haven't collected all in the series and london and paris were actually bought after some of the more recently released cd's. i've been reluctant to buy any of the latest releases for fear of wasting my money. that's how bad i think london was."
Nice!

"This is a nice deep house production. If you like this, check out the first full length CD for producer Quentin Allen as Karu. There are other 12" releases on Silver Network, Dadhouse, Winding Road, Mimosa & Smooth Agent. This CD is a very consistant production with a good blend of jazz, hip-hop, techno, neo-soul, and deep house all together. The beats are very crisp and sound good in the car, the house or the club. Some songs tastefully use vocal snippets to add flavor. There is even a track featuring Warren Harris aka Hanna (Shadow Records, Silver Network, Flat & Round, Freerange). If you want good quality deep house, this CD is for you."
Just Like London, but without the accents

"A lovely addition to the Afterdark series. Of course, anything that has a cut by DJ DEEP("Inner Peace" on the first disc) is alright by me. Nice chill, "I just got back from the club, n ow it's afterparty action at my loft" type house. But it works on the dancefloor as well."
Average at best

"I was frankly disappointed with the sound of this cd. Having already been familiar with the incredibly well done and unique sound of AfterDark: Chicago, I was expecting a similarly unique flavor here. Instead, I received decent but rather ordinary house mixes that rarely make it into my vast techno rotation."
