I've listened to samples of other Ukrainian CDs on amazon.com and own a number of other Ukrainian CDs, but this one is by far the best! This professionally produced CD represents some of the best music that Ukraine has to offer. Much of the other Ukrainian music currently available in the US pales in comparison to this release."

"Ukrainian Folk Music is one of my favorite Ukrainian CDs in my collection. Some of the songs with female vocalists are heart-achingly beautiful in their melodies. Ave Maria stands out in this regard, as does U Zeleny Polonyni. There are other songs which are full of light and humor, which get your toes tapping and your spirit bouncing along with them. Hutsule gets you dancing!



Some songs on here inspiring and soothing, like Oi Satsvela. In fact, I love every song on this CD. Sometimes you get CDs where you enjoy some songs and skip over others - but for me, each song is great to listen to for its own individual reasons.



You don't have to understand Ukrainian at all to enjoy this music. Just listening to the music and the intricate harmonies is like appreciatig fine classical music.



The production quality on this set is exceptional. I have other CDs that sound scratchy because of the recording environment, but here the voices soar and the instruments come through crisp and clear.
