"everyone has their own favs on this cd. some people will like one kinda music, others will like another. not sure how many of us will appreciate the beauty of the entire cd and all these singers. What it is missing the most, is a group performance which would've been a great addition. & to be totally honest, i only enjoyed half the cd. but the surprising thing here is the best song on the cd comes from the last person you'd expect.
What About Love- Melissa McGhee: 5/5 & yes, I mean her. Her voice soars in this great Heart song! I was very impressed, easily one of the best! it's rather disappointing that she didn't make it further.
Superstition- Bucky Covington: 4/5 The song may have been overplayed back in the day but Bucky does a nice job covering it! His voice suits the song and it's upbeat and fun to listen to!
I'm Every Woman- Mandisa: 3.5/5 to be honest, not a big fan of her voice in the first place. the song is ok, I don't find it catchy at all really. but again, some may enjoy this. I just don't think it had the right hook.
Wanted Dead Or Alive- Chris Daughtry: 5/5 Definitely think he chose the right song and I actually think he did a better job then the original singer! great job & I wasn't even a big fan of his!
Father Figure- Ace Young: 2/5 I have to be honest here, I think he mostly only got off cause of his looks and I don't really find anything catchy in this song. it's just kinda boring but his fans will prob like it cause it's Ace.
Takin' It To The Street- Taylor Hicks: 4/5 It's a good choice! he did better songs throughout the year but I mean, he got on my good side bout half way through the season and I think he deserved to win! It's a catchy song and you can have some fun with it, so props!
Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)- Lisa Tucker: 2/5 um... way too bubble-gum pop, not very catchy at all. it's like a sad cry for help. I don't think this girl will get a record deal.
Walkin' After Midnight- Kellie Pickler: 4.5/5 I actually really liked this track! not just cause I like her but it was fun, upbeat, she did a good job singing! I'm impressed!
Moody's Mood For Love- Elliott Yamin: 3.5/5 to be honest, I never understood this guy, the kind of music he sings bores the heck out of me. I actually picked him as the first to go in the top 12, man was I wrong. I think he might do fairly well singing Soul cause he does have that voice, but you wouldn't find me buying his cd is all.
Think- Katharine McPhee: 3.5/5 My fav contestant since the auditions, but after so many screechy performances toward the end, I kinda lost my interest. The song's ok, parts of it I really like! but the second half of the song just repetetive and dull for an upbeat song. think she could've picked a better single but oh well.
Midnight Train To Georgia- Paris Bennett: 3/5 I really don't know what anyone sees in this song. never really been a fan of Paris but I don't think this song is that good. might just be me or her singing is just too weird for me, who knows, I guess some people love that kinda thing! again, it's just not for me.
12. When I Fall In Love- Kevin Covais: 2/5 believe it or not, this was considered one of his better performances. but listening to it for me, was painful. It's boring, doesn't sound like he's hitting a note in tune. I think he got off cause he was "cute" but I don't really see any kind of talent or future for this kid in this business at least. prob the worst on the album.
so yah, it's definitely a mix in choices but I think overall, it's still worth your money! It's an overall good album, my two fav's throughout the season(Kat & Taylor), well their songs aren't even in my top 3 of the best songs on this album. so yah, a little surprising for me in areas. so please go out and purchase this album if you don't mind about an hour's worth of mixed up music!
