"My intent in writing this review is to provide potential buyers with information critical for deciding whether to buy this album or not. First, these ARE the original recordings by the original artists; many of them have appeared in the Top 100 Charts in the USA; of the 40 cuts, 34 are from the 80's and 90's. Five are from the 70's and one goes all the way back to the 60's. Many of the artists will be familiar to anyone who watched MTV back in the 80's and early 90's when they actually played videos - Icehouse, Men at Work, Jimmy Barnes, Crowded House, Divinyls, Split Enz, and so on. If you are like me, many of them also will be completely new to you, but here is the good news - anyone who likes the familiar songs and artists will also like the unfamiliar ones. The songs are remarkably consistent in the mood that they set - pleasant, upbeat, pop tunes filled with optimism; this doesn't mean that they all sound alike - far from it. It simply means that along with familiar favorites, you will be introduced to additional artists and songs that you will like just as much. If you buy this album, you won't be disappointed."
