This is the real stuff

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Essential: Everything under this label is so ... fine and sophisticated, you really can never go wrong. "Reactivate" compilations are their very best, so this is the "best of the best" in London/Techno/Rave/Trance (e.g. Trade/ff/DTPM .... whatever) music -- unafraid, soulful, transcendent, wild, free, honest, rhythmic and 180bpm-funky -- at times overwhelmingly sensitive and even heroic -- there are some great, true "anthems" here (no vocals!). This is serious dance music, and it makes oh-so-clear what's been missing here in the US, for the last .... 12++ years (actually since the Paradise Garage closed, if you ask me). Listen and weep! Most of it isn't on the recently-made-available-in-the-USA compilations -- in fact, some of the "older"/earlier stuff (c. 1990 +/ and still heavily sampled from) is even wilder and harder. A great overview of the "Reactivate" compilations (I think they're at Reactivate 17 or something like that now). This is the "classic" music of this genre, and it's still happening!"
