"Like soft rock? You'll like this. There are some cool tunes in the 80s rock genre here - 'Play with Me' by Extreme and 'Two Heads...' by Power Tool (featuring Dweezil Zappa, incidentally). Amazing ballads - 'Walk Away' by Bricklin and 'In Time' by Robbie Robb. If you like stuff by Bon Jovi or 'Jump'-era Van Halen you should seriously consider this thang, man. In total a very good album for those who love the music of the time, or the film. Remember the scene with Beethoven rocking out on the keyboard at the mall? - on the album. Remember where Bill and Ted end up in the future and the futurians are standing around waving manically? - on the album. Get it. Soon."
Bill and Ted's EXCELLENT Soundtrack!

"Plain and simple...this album is excellent! The most mentionable songs on this album (in my opinion) are 1. In Time"- Robbie Robb (played as they visited the three excellent dudes in the future) 2. "Walk Away"- Bricklin (played as they introduced their legendary "guests" for their history project) 3. "Play With Me"- Extreme (played during their attack on the mall) 4. "Two Heads Are Better Than One"- PowerTool (later known as the duo NELSON) (played over the end credits. Even thought the soundtrack to the sequel did better commercially, THIS is the better soundtrack."

"Most of the music on this soundtrack is from bands that were preparing to release debut albums or from people "in the scene" at the time who cobbled together a band for fun.
Extreme has the first track here, which also appeared on their debut shortly thereafter in a slightly different form. Silly lyrics, absolutely killer guitar work by Nuno. The man absolutely shreds.
Glenn Burtnick is here. He is mostly a songwriter who has written hits for all kinds of people from Cyndi Lauper to Jo Dee Messina. A musician's musician, Jon Bon Jovi recruited him for the original inception of Bon Jovi in the early 80's. He puts together a nice, fun piece.
Shark Island was supposed to be big and therefore have 2 tracks here. For some reason they didn't make it but the songs are great.
The only other band worth mentioning is Power Tool. However you probably know them better from their massive hit album a couple years later called "After the Rain", recorded under the more familiar name of Nelson. Yup, the twin sons of Ricky Nelson with the flowing blonde locks. Their recording career started right here, folks.
Beyond that, it is what it is. Guitar rock for a teen movie from the 80's."
Best damn album

"This album always brings me back to when life was good. If you are trying to make an 80's collection this would be the first item to get."
A great compilation

"I first saw the movie in the theaters. then i got the album. The movie became a sleeper cult classic. The album got tossed aside, but is a sleeper too. It is filled with a mix of fun, and true to the movie. It has music that all people I have talked to enjoy, and wonder where to get. Those who know the movie, or have heard about it know the music, and know the artists htat perform on the soundtrack... It is a chance to hear them all in a different light, or in their true light. This album is worth every penny and more because of the mix of music, and the artists found on it. I have had the CD stolen from me three times, and I continue buying it because you will never find a rock soundtrack any better."
