Melodic rock with an edge

"Buzzsaw was a late 60's/early 70's rock group featuring former members of The Lemon Drops ("I live in the Springtime" - Nuggets)that played fairly melodic, non-abrasive rock, but with a heavy Hendrixian psychedelic lead guitar. The lyrics range from Sci-fi ("Saturn is just a few days away") to political ("Don't listen to Sam"). "Roll your green grass on" is kind of musically similar to The Velvet Underground's "What goes on" in the rhythm and chord progression. This collection apparently has their entire recorded output. Overall, I'd say this is a worthwhile purchase for people interested in music from this period, but not essential. Three and a half stars, actually."
