The Best Example of Celtic Christian Music I Know
Saint Dubricius | Eastern Seaboard, USA | 09/19/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Two years ago somebody sent me a bootleg copy of various speakers from the Brownsville Revival interspersed with samples of Christian music. At the end of the first side was the most haunting rendition of Rich Mullin's _Awesome God_ I ever heard. Done in the Celtic Christian style, the haunting traditional Irish intruments were accompanied by a female solist with a voice so clear and sharp, you could shave with it.It took two years of looking, but I finally found the album and the entire CD is filled with Christian worship music so beautiful and poignant it brings tears to my eyes. _Celtic Worship_ by Eden's Bridge was produced in 1997 and on some British music lists is *still* in the Top Five. With a Celtic fusion style reminiscent of Clannad, the set starts out with _Awesome God_ which is followed by some of the most moving examples of Celtic music I've ever been privileged to hear. Cuts of importance are the introspective ballad _Stones and Sea_ to the traditional renditions of _He Is Exalted_ and probably the best known Celtic Christian hymn, _Be Thou My Vision_.Buy it. Enjoy it. Buy it for others."
The closest to God's own music!

"I bought the album at Stoneleigh Bible week in August and I could not stop playing it. I was really taken by the third track, "Stones and Sea" In November I stayed on Holy Island, the home of Celtic worship. The island and the CD gave me a new insight into God's greatness through His creation and I can not recommend it highly enough as a true source of inspiration. My only criticism is that there are no words printed with the CD so if anyone reading knows where I can get them I would be really grateful."
The perfect marriage between Celtic sounds and deep worship.

"Featuring the ethereal voice of Sarah Lacy that soars above the lush but tasteful production, this album CELTIC WORSHIP as well as its companion volume CELTIC PSALMS provides a wonderful atmosphere of worship for the listener. For those familiar with the sounds of IONA and CLANNAD, EDEN'S BRIDGE falls somewhat between the two but does not suffer from comparison with either. This CD is a mixture of original tunes and some worship 'favorites' incuding Rich Mullins "Awesome God" and Twila Paris' "Lamb of GOD" and "He is exalted" given the 'celtic' treatment. However their own songs are most impressive. "Into the Light" is a haunting song of yearning for the light of God's truth and life. "Stones and Sea" and "The Prodigal" are both songs that owe more to a traditional folk tradition than a necessarily celtic one but both are glimpses in to the heart of the Artists. What is perhaps remarkable is that the group itself EDEN'S BRIDGE, seems to receive second billing in terms of the promotion and design of the CD. The focus is put on the style (CELTIC) rather than the group performing. I hope that will not prevent some checking this excellent work out as some may feel the CD is being promoted as some sort of compilation or worse still as background 'wallpaper' muzak. It is far from that. It is an album that gently leads the listener into a place of deep worship and rich contemplation."
