Terrific piano playing- stays true to original music

"I'm a huge MCR fan and I adore piano music so getting this was a no-brainer for me. The music is amazingly true to the original melodies- I especially liked Teenagers on piano, more than I thought I would. Not all songs translate well to the piano but for the most part, this makes a neat addition to The Black Parade."

"There are more than a few bad tribute CDs out there but I was pleasantly suprised and actually really impressed with this one. It's done by a group called "Piano Rocks" and the arrangements are spot-on. Its not easy to get vocal melodies translated accurately all the time but you can sing right along with these arrangements- down to every little inflection. I'm not suprised that all but two tracks are from The Black Parade (none from I Brought You... which is not suprising) since it was such an operatic (sp.?) album. I particulary loved "I Dont Love You" which is even more beautiful here and "This Is How I Dissapear" (my favorite track from TBP). Overall, a great purchase for any MCR fan who loves piano music too or is just looking for some different, quality interpretations of some already fantastic songs."

"My first (and standing) thought is "They've turned My Chemical Romance into elevator music!"
The piano playing doesn't really do MCR justice; it's not dynamic enough. And the background instruments/noises throughout don't help either. It sounds way too jazzed up, but maybe if you're into jazz you would like this "tribute" more.
I would definitely suggest the string quartet tributes as another (better) option for instrumental MCR, because they still capture the essence of the band, rather than just playing the music (kinda) but losing the gothic rock sense of it. An example of more dynamic piano playing (although I don't think he does MCR) is thepianocian on youtube. Something more like that would make this cd more memorable."
