Album DescriptionThese rare Cuban tracks were culled from the historic Sound Triangle label which produced the first Cuban LPs to be distributed in the United States following the 1959 embargo. These recordings were culled from over 1,500 masters, showcasing a vast diversity of authentic Cuban styles including Salsa, Bolero, Cumbia, Charanga, Danzón, Son, Guajira, Rhumba etc. CD-1 focuses on the great classic female singers like Maria Teresa, Marta Perez and Doris de la Torre. CD-2 focuses on the true "folk" music of Cuba, the Son, Bolero and Guajira styles popularized by small groups and trios in rural parts of the island. CD-3 features some of the great classic male singers, each with a distinctive style all their own. The rare recordings presented on this collection represent the true roots of the music and are a virtual treasure trove of some of the best authentic Cuban music ever recorded.
