"This compilation, a best-of from the influential British record label Creation, thoroughly covers all aspects of British pop of the late 80's and 90's. While including the breakout acts on the roster (Oasis, Primal Scream, Teenage Fanclub) the double album serves up great tracks from bands that just never made it in North America. Great shoegazer stuff from Slowdive and Ride. Britpop is represented by Oasis and Adorable. And the best song by Bob Mould since Husker Du, "If I Can't Change Your Mind" will add to any collection. It also includes great pop songs that don't fit into any category, The Weather Prophets "Almost Prayed", The Velvet Crush "Drive Me Down", BMX Bandits "Serious Drugs" and Super Furry Animals "The Man Don't Give A Fuck" are so different that it's hard to believe they were signed to the same label. The album spans 17 years of singles and about five new 'British Invasions', and yet the album is coherent and doesn't sound like a collection of tunes thrown together for a final cash-in. Creation may be gone, but you might find yourself looking for albums by the bands on this collection at the record store, i will be."
