"Simply put this is a work of art. It covers every possible genre of mod music. There is blues, ska, british blues, raggae, soul, rhythm and blues and jazz. My only complaint is that it excludes two oft covered artists in england :Mose Allison (covered by hte yardbirds, the who, and georgie fame) and Bo Diddley (covered by well the yardbirds the who, creation all mod bands). this aside though you get rare songs that were often covered by british bands as well as rare british bands liek the creation, action, as well as more popular brit bands, the who and small faces. If your interested in 60's music and the british pop scene this collection is for you."
Mods Sure Know Great Music

"I'm no expert on UK Mods of the 1960's but I can tell you they had great freakin' taste in music. Along with clear cut Motown tracks, these CD's are filled with some of the greatest Motown-inspired tracks from the US & the UK along with some killer 60's funk and with Disc #4, great late 1960's bluesy rock.
Now if you have the Motown Hitsville's box sets, you have a lot of these tracks but unless they've been remastered recently (I bought mine years ago), these tracks all sound much better and cleaner than the versions on the Motown Hitsville box sets (though if you bought them recently, they've might've been remastered).
This is a great box set of classic, killer music with lots of tracks on each disc. A great box set."
