Disco makes it's revenge

"Frankie Knuckles once said that house music is disco's revenge. And this CD confirms it. This is another great installment in the disco kandi collection. As an avid Disco House fan I love most of the tracks on here. They are fresh, hot and juicy. This is what house music is supposed to sound like. Juicy poweful vocals - gospel inspired black divas singing beautifully along side guitar licks and upbeat piano jams. The music is somehow uplifting, fun, energetic and smooth all at the same time. Full Intention's remix of UNA MAS is off the hook, as is the disco classic remix of Dancin' in Paradise. "dancin and prancin, everybody was dancing and smokin' and ooooh getin' high!" Look at the packaging - how could you not want this album. it took me just a couple of minutes at virgin to buy this album. The artwork is off the hook - and the copy on the box is hilarious - 3 steps to disco heaven - you have to read it. by the way Jason Brooks does all the funky art work. And NO i am not at all involved w/ this cd ... really. I just fell in love w/ this series... if you like "real" house music or long for the days of the classics you will go ga ga for this style of music....House music has never sounded so good... oh well in the early 90s it was hot.. but it's hot again!!! I love it!!! it's like Space Ibiza after Manumission... and all house djs are working these tracks into their mixes... GBH and Subliminal here in the city are the two of the best nites out and you are guaranteed a healthy dose of disco house... Take me to Disco HEaven... yeah i'm a freak... i know.. but i'll see you on the dancefloor... 3 am... NYC happy house to you me and the disco ball...thank you Mark Doyle!"
This is as Good as House Music Gets

"I own all the Hed Kandi stuff and various other house compilations and easily this is the one that I go back to time and time again while deejaying.Don't be put off by the "disco" tag; while some tracks have a somewhat 70s disco tinge to them the majority are just flat-out kickass house jams and some of the hookiest I've ever heard."New Horizons" (check out that insane bass line!) was an instant favorite, but there's plenty to choose from.If you want melodic house for the dance floor, consider this your blueprint and build from there. The Ministry of Sound and Ibiza-type collections have their moments, but lately seem somewhat dominated by--eek!--trance, which I generally despise."

"Anyone who names a compilation "Disco Heaven" is setting themselves up for extremely high expectations. It's therefore with regret that I announce that I wasn't totally thrilled with this double CD. Much of the material (a collection of low-key house and neo disco) is quite competent and likeable, but a lot of it is forgettable. The songs bleed into each other with very little distinction or personality. Add to the fact that a great deal of these tracks appear on compilations I already own (Kim English, Jamiroquai, Kings of Tomorrow). I'm not knocking this CD at all, but I've certainly heard better from the Hed Kandi series. Get it used if you can."
