"Ella Enchanted" showcases a hot lineup that includes the film's star, Anne Hathaway, who makes her singing debut by appearing on teen heartthrob Jesse McCartney's rendition of the Elton John/Kiki Dee hit "Don't Go Breakin... more »' My Heart." Hathaway also performs bouncy covers of the 1976 Leo Sayer smash "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" and the 1977 Queen hit "Somebody To Love." All three tracks were recorded specifically for the film. Additional highlights on "Ella Enchanted" include new tracks by singer-songwriter Darren Hayes, formerly of Savage Garden, ("Strange Magic"), punk-poppers Stimulator ("Magic"), rising new star Kari Kimmel ("It's Not Just Make Believe") and Radio Disney faves Jump 5 (who contribute a cover of the Katrina & the Waves' top ten hit "Walking on Sunshine"). Ella Enchanted also features "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson's stirring rendition of Aretha Franklin's "Respect," Disney star Raven's "True To Your Heart," Bryan Adams & Andrea Remanda duet ("If You Believe") and the Beu Sisters' "Once Upon A Broken Heart."« less

"I wasn't thrilled with the movie Ella Enchanted, but I loved the music on the ELLA ENCHANTED SOUNDTRACK. Here are a few highlights of the disk:*Don't Go Breakin My Heart (Jesse McCartney and Anne Hathaway) - Anne Hathaway has an amazing voice, I think she's a better singer than she is an actress. Add Jesse McCartney (who has an awesome voice as well) and a catchy song like "Dont Go Breakin My Heart" and you have a great intro to a CD.
*Once Upon a Broken Heart (The Beu Sisters) - The Beu Sisters are all very good vocalists. This song is really pretty (I love the piano music in the beginning) and it's cute. It totally fits the movie.
*Walkin' on Sunshine (Jump5) - There are a lot of remakes on this CD, and Walkin on Sunshine is probaby the best. It's upbeat and fun to sing along with.
*Somebody to Love (Anne Hathaway) - When she goes really high, Anne's voice isn't great. But when she gets into the smooth jazz-ish parts, she sounds awesome!!!All the songs on the ELLA ENCHANTED SOUNDTRACK are great, but those are the four best. If you liked the movie, you should love the soundtrack.Overall grade - A"

"When purchasing a soundtrack, it is always unclear what will actually turn up on it, songs that were played in the movie, or just random songs that they decide to put together onto an album. Luckily, with the ELLA ENCHANTED Soundtrack there was no trickery, and buyers were treated to an entire album worth of songs that were featured in the movie. While I adored every song on the album, I found a certain few that were the stand-out tracks.
*"Don't Go Breakin' My Heart (Track 1) by Jesse McCartney & Anne Hathaway - I have been a fan of Jesse McCartney and his vocal abilities since his Dream Street and "All My Children" days, so it was fabulous to get the chance to hear him sing again on this soundtrack. The fact that Anne Hathaway is a part of this duet only makes it better, as Anne has a wonderful vocal talent, and showcases that here.
*"It's Not Just Make Believe" (Track 2) by Kari Kimmel - I had never heard of Kari Kimmel before listening to this album, but I was quite impressed with this track. Kari has a great voice, and the chorus is very catchy.
*"Walking On Sunshine" (Track 6) by Jump 5 - I have heard many re-makes of this song over the years, but I think that Jump 5 has done one of the best jobs with it. They've made it very upbeat and poppy, and it totally gets your head bopping.
*"Strange Magic" (Track 8) by Darren Hayes - I have adored the musical sounds of Darren Hayes since his Savage Garden days, and it is an absolute treat to have a song by him on this album. Especially one as entertaining as "Strange Magic."
*"Somebody to Love" (Track 9) by Anne Hathaway - As I mentioned before, Anne has a marvelous singing voice, and it was wonderful to have the chance to hear her sing this particular song, as it is a remake of a popular Queen song from years ago. Her voice sounds great, and the back-up music is quite powerful. A real get up and dance song.
*"Once Upon A Broken Heart" (Track 10) by The Beu Sisters - I have heard a few songs by The Beu Sisters on Radio Disney, but "Once Upon A Broken Heart" is definitely one of my favorites by them. Their voices really mesh together well, and create a beautiful harmony that it sure to please all listeners.
Overall, this was a fabulous album, that featured numerous fabulous songs by today's hottest performers. Listeners young and old will both benefit from the ELLA ENCHANTED Soundtrack, as it puts new spins on some of the hottest songs from yesterday.

"My 4 and 7 year old daughters love this CD. I smile quietly as I explain that most these songs weren't just written. They were what I rocked to many years ago. Freddy Mercury would have approved. I want my own copy as my girls have hidden my first copy. Moms you can enjoy this with your girls! Buy 2 copies."

"I'm a huge fan of the book, Ella Enchanted. It was my favorite book all during elementary school and remains one of my favorite books of all time. So when I went yesterday to see the movie version, i was excited, but secretly anticipating to see a movie aimed mostly at a much younger audience. But lo and behold, i was surprised to find one of the best movies i've seen in awhile that everyone in your family can go see. I was especially enamored with the catchy songs throughout the movie, so i immediately went to Target to pick up the soundtrack, which is great. Yes, some of the songs are a little too disney channel sounding for me, but there are enough great songs to make up for them."
