"What makes this Brazilian compilation better than many others out there is that all of these cuts are true Brazilian.
Not all of them are fantastic but the idea is well kept throughout the disc.
Some of the highlights of this recording are: Emilio Santiago's Bananeira / Erlon Chaves' version of Roberto Carlos' Jesus Cristo / Mexerico Da Candinha by Legendary Wilson Simonal / Saco de Feijao by Beth Carvalho and Sunny by Eli Goulart.

An excellent first step...or second, or third, or...

"Okay, this wasn't the first Brazilian music for me, but it was the CD that turned my fascination into obsession. It was the Beth Carvalho track that reached out and grabbed me. Exceptional. The Evinha track is awesome too. But I can't complain about anything on here. It's one of those discs you can spin from beginning to end without having to skip a track.
This is a French compilation, and they seem to have the in where Brazilian music is concerned. It's all tasty and toe-tapping, without being repetitive. Highly recommended.
