Great intro into Worship Music

"I like every song here, except "I Love You, Lord" done by the Paul Colman Trio. The lead just seems to be out of range for this normally beautiful ballad.The worship music is just a tiny bit edgier than typical worship CD's. If you are just getting into worship music or wondering what's all the praise/worship craze about, this should be the first to get. You feel more like you are listening to some excellent singles, rather than floating along in a sea of worship music.Even though I'm full-swing into worship music, now, it is still my favorite. If you want a quieter, float-along, but with the same impact - go for Phillips, Craig, and Dean "Let My Words be Few." If you want that crowd, excitement driven feeling, go for Michael W. Smith's "Worship.""

Good solid Christian mix

"This is one of the better mixes of worship songs by various artists. None of the arrangements and interpretations here are substandard, and many are above average. I was a bit miffed to learn that at least one of the artists featured here won't have her first CD out until the fall -- it made this CD feel a bit more like a marketing ploy than a genuine vehicle for worship. But it's a small nit to pick when all the music is this good.By the way -- as I peruse Christian CDs on Amazon, I often see reviewers refer to the "new" trend toward worship music (music that specifically addresses God as distinct from being about the Christian life). If Christian music, in its attempt to go pop mainstream, is so spiritually bankrupt lately that songs directly addressing God are considered a novelty, then something's really wrong. I first sensed it when "Butterfly Kisses," a song about neither God nor the Christian life but a father-daughter relationship (with a prayer to Jesus cleverly worked into the first verse to lend it a pretention toward spirituality), won the Dove Song of the Year!"
