"Rock -N- Roll's Greatest Hits of All Time, Vol. 2: The 60s has a great selection of those awesome `60s rock songs on two CDs for us to enjoy. I like the diversity of the artists and the sound quality is really rather good. The artwork is good, too.



The two CD set starts off big with The Beach Boys doing their awesome masterpiece entitled "Good Vibrations." They harmonize to perfection and the middle section of the song is brilliant. This song always brings back fond memories for me of those junior high school dances. I think many newcomers to this genre of music will still enjoy "Good Vibrations." There's also The Chiffons on "He's So Fine." The Chiffons were one of the very best girl groups of the 1960s and there's no secret why when you hear them singing "He's So Fine!" They harmonize flawlessly and the musical arrangement lacks nothing--it's THAT good. "He's So Fine" features The Chiffons celebrating their love for their men.



Peter & Gordon turn in a very touching, sweet tune, "World Without Love." Again, we hear a lot of harmonizing and Peter & Gordon never sounded better! Jan & Dean's "Surf City" switches gears and although it sounds a bit like a song The Beach Boys would have done Jan & Dean hold their own very well and I really like this song.



Bobby Vee's "Take Good Care Of My Baby" always pulls at my heartstrings; and "Surfin' U.S.A." by The Beach Boys showcases this group again at the top of their game. "Surfin' U.S.A." is beautiful and really cool in the hands of The Beach Boys.



"Mother-In-Law" by Ernie K-Doe always makes me chuckle when I hear it; it's a cute little tune with a catchy melody and a great arrangement. By contrast, "What the World Needs Now Is Love" by Jackie DeShannon is more somber but very sweet. This is a loving ballad that we can all still relate to today.



The Jarmels "Little Bit Of Soap" always rocks great and I love it whenever I get to hear it; they sing and play this so well like the masters they always were! Bobby Darin concludes the two CD set beautifully with his fine performance of "You're the Reason I'm Living." Great!



Overall, I like this two CD set--it has some mighty fine `60s rock tunes on it for you to enjoy. If you like this CD I would also recommend similar CDs with different tracks on them.

"This was a good mix of songs from the 60"s. I was a child of the 60&70's music and it is great to be able to purchase a mix of the songs from both eras. I recommend this one to be part of any collection."
