Synopsis

Album Description
This massive compilation, Grind Madness at the BBC, Featuring the the finest legendary BBC Peel Sessions in One Complete, 3 CD, 118 track Set. From the earliest days of Earache Records, BBC National Radio's John Peel was a huge supporter of the label and it's extreme grindcore bands. He offered the likes of Heresy and Napalm Death sessions in 1987 and began to invite more of the labels roster to lay down some classic sessions. In subsequent years bands such as Napalm Death and Carcass credited Peel with Kick-starting their careers. This recording includes 17 different sessions from 8 (Napalm Death, Carcass, Bolt Thrower, Extreme Noise Terror, GodFlesh, Heresy, Unseen Terror and Intense Degree) of the most important acts in the early history of Gridcore. All in a smart slip case sleeve.

The Peel Sessions collection... one stop shop for a metal up

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This set is an awesome find. These sets are available in other single sets each priced far higher than the price listed here. For the cost of a single cd you can get the best of the Peel Sessions featuring Napalm Death, Godflesh, Carcass, Extreme Noise Terror, Heresy, Bolt Thrower, Unseen Terror, and Intense Degree. The sound quality is top notch and the performaces capture each of the groups represented here during their later-formative years. It is just late enough to have a focused sound and identity but not so late as to have become tired and dated. Especially cool about this set is that the listener can compare each band side-by-side and discover the intricacies of each. Far too many people overlook these bands today. These groups spawned international scenes of copycat artists and many modern acts owe a lot to the innovation of these bands. If you are new to these groups then this is a great set to start your collection. If you are up to your neck in the studio albums from these giants of the metal world then this will suffice as a nice capstone upon which to center your collection. Awesome bands. Awesome sound. Awesome collection. Awesome price. You cannot lose. Five stars."
