"The "Happy, Texas" soundtrack has all of the quirky, feel-good qualities of the movie itself! There are are plenty of honky-tonk flavored rockers, like "That Buckin' Song," by Robert Earl Keen; "Hurdy Gurdy Monkey Shine," by the The Road Kings; and Randy Scruggs and Joan Osborne's "Passin' Thru." You'll also find some slow tempo gems like Emmylou Harris' "Ordinary Heart' and Pam Tillis' "After a Kiss." And "Half a Man" by Shannon Brown is contemporary country at its best. This is a great collection of fun, sing-along-while-you're-driving tunes.... I highly recommend it!"

"This CD is a good mix of catchy country songs and eclectic oddities that is a fun way to spend the 40-plus minutes it takes to get through them. Standing out in the country offerings is the first track 'Passing Through,' featuring a great performance by a versatile Joan Osbourne (of 'One of Us' fame), and the romantic 'After a Kiss' by Pam Tillis. Shannon Brown's 'Half a Man,' the single woman's anthem, is pop-meets-country at its best, and almost worth the price of the CD alone (unless you want to buy the DVD, then you'd have the cool video, too)! The happiness continues with oddities like the 'Gopher Mambo,' which makes you wonder who thinks up these things, and 'Are You Happy Baby,' which makes a fitting theme song for the whole CD. And get ready for some clever word play in 'That Buckin' Song,' that you can't help smiling at.So, if you need some 'Happy,' this is the CD for you!"
