Synopsis

Album Description
Ace's second salute to the genius of Jack Nitzsche is no less compelling than our first. Once again the tracks have been carefully selected to give the full breadth of Nitzsche's abilities during every stage of his 40+ year career, from his earliest sessions, through to Jack's final collaborations with C.C. Adcock just months before his death. The track listing features a copious quantity of rare material, including many previously unissued tracks that will be new to even the most avid Nitzsche collector. The tenacity of Ace's licensing department has resulted in our being able to include many tracks that were not available at the time of the previous CD's release. Artists even queried their absence from Volume One and interceded with their record companies on our behalf. As with "Hearing Is Believing", this CD is produced with the full co-operation and approval of Jack Nitzsche's family.

CD Reviews

Part 2, Terrific followup
John B Goode | Nova Scotia, Canada | 12/06/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Vol 1 of this tribute to Jack Nitzsche was terrific, and this disk maintains the pace. A few of the songs are well known, but perhaps not the versions by the artist on this disk.

But they are all rock solid. Many of the tracks are the best kind of mono - punchy and full-bodied.

If you like the music of 1960-65, and are tired of hearing the same classic hits over and over again, this cd will reawaken your enthusiasm for the era.

There are some tracks from a later era, but they are not out of place. The track with Miles Davis will blow your mind. It made me think of Shaft, or a Tarantino movie.

Genius!!!!

"This guy was a studio wizard without peer----and I don't want to hear Phil Spector's name mentioned in the same breath. The scope of his work is staggering. Anybody that would put John Lee Hooker and Miles Davis together for a jam session---THAT COULD GET THOSE TWO TOGETHER FOR A JAM SESSION---and then have sense enough to just let the tape roll has got to be a genius. Don't miss this. After Jack, they broke the mold."
Excellent album!

"So much fun to listen to. Jack Nitsche is a genius. I discovered all sorts of gems I had never heard."
