CD Reviews

I've been turned into a Italiophile!!!!!

"I never heard any Italian dance music before but just the dance tracks like 49ers, Jinny and Black Box. This CD set is my favorite and I carry it with me everywhere I go. Nice to hear English and Italian versions. Need to make another one. Here in Hawaii its a nice change from all the rap and hiphop that is popular here.

Finally . . . Dance Music in the Original Language!

"What a great CD!! As a major fan of Italo Disco of the '80's and Euro dance music in general, this was a fantastic find!!!! All of the songs and artists on this CD are originals and it's extremely fun to hear so many of the tracks sung in Italian! No, with my limited education in Italian (one year of the language back in college which I unfortunately did not retain outside of a handful of words and phrases) I understand very little of the lyrics. But so what. Simply hearing a song in the same way as a person would hear it on the radio or in the clubs in Europe is enough!

This mix of dance anthems will keep you moving from beginning to end! Another thing I like so well about this package of Euro dance music is no rap (outside of a couple of brief episodes) and no hip-hop. Just great, solid "disco" music (I know that term is long out of "vogue", but I like to call it what it is!) I normally prefer long versions, but I'm very happy with the length of the songs on this CD. As another reviewer said, the songs change just often enough to keep things fresh! All are mixed together club style, so the music is non-stop from beginning to end.

In my opinion, all of the tracks are excellent. My personal favorites are the well-known international hit "Mai Ai Hee (Dragostea Din Tel)", "Non So Perche", "L'Italiano", and "Figli De Pitagora". The final track "Voglia Di Dance All Night" also deserves merit as it has a slower (almost a sort of "shuffle") tempo. The rhythm still is as dance-able as the others, but a perfect end as it allows you to keep moving while cooling down from the previous 16 tracks.

If you want a taste of classic Euro dance music (namely Italian), this is the CD you need to pick up! Even if you're not sure if it's what you're looking for, the CD can be purchased for a "can't go wrong" price. Give this great collection a try. It's currently one of my favorites in my vast collection of CDs and I'd venture a guess that it will also be one of yours!!!"
Pump It Up!

"Bought this in the used bargain bin and I love it! Can't believe someone actually parted with it! Tons better than the pop and hip-hop America keeps putting out. I'm learning Italian through dance music and it is very, very good! If you're into non-stop dance beats and cool lyrics (even the Italian ones I don't understand are cool) buy this ASAP!"
