"I bought this out of boredom and was shockingly suprised. From the opening track, "Moment of Hate," to the cover version by Toma at the end of disc two, this collection held my full attention. I had heard tracks like Martin Dupont's "Just Because" (Minimal Wave Tapes Volume One) and other tracks by End Of Data and Casio Music on other compilations. Overall the compilation has a strange pop quality that straddles Punk Rock and New Wave which probably accounts for why it sounds so fresh. Or perhaps some of the songs may have influenced some current artists. However, some tracks may be grating. For me, the Henriette Coulouvrat is a bit annoying, but then again that may be the point of a song entitled "Can You Take A Joke?".
Personally, I could picture myself listening to many of these artists back in 1978 to 1983 if I had been aware of them. I am glad to be listening to them now."
