CD Reviews

Track listing doesn't stack up against original vinyl album

"Yes, the track list for this CD is correct, and yes, it IS wrong, when compared to the original vinyl.

My guess is that this company didn't figure on us collectors still holding onto our original vinyl copies of this and several other "K-tel albums" they're trying to represent as re-issues, when in fact they do not resemble the originals in any way shape or form.

I have the original "Super Bad is Back" (published (c)(p)1973 K-tel Int'l., catalog # NU 430) and this time only FIVE songs make the transition to the CD from the vinyl, leaving out such great songs as Barry White's debut "I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More, Baby", Millie Jackson's "Hurts So Good", O'Jays' "Time to Get Down", Fred Wesley and the JBs' "Doin It to Death", First Choice "Armed and Extremely Dangerous", and the Chi-Lites' "Stoned Out of My Mind".

Like their "reissue" of "Super Bad", this CD is crap. Don't buy this, it's an insult to those of us who DO remember."
Song/Track Listing Online - is it correct for this CD?

"I own an original 1973 K-Tel vinyl LP for "Super Bad is Back" and the songs listed here online are totally different from the original "Super Bad is Back" LP song listing that I was expecting. Also, check out the other vinyl LP and Cassette listed for sale, and they are the same as my LP. Plus the cover listed here online is the same as my LP, that has "20 ORIGINAL HITS-20 ORIGINAL STARS" as my LP, but has only 14 tracks/songs listed online. My LP has 20 songs from the 1972/1973 era.

It appears that someone mixed up the track listing here online. Old Schoolers who have the original 1973 vinyl LP will notice this too.

I would like to have the original songs from 1973's "Super Bad is Back" on CD with the same cover on CD (red and green) with Curtis Mayfield (Future Shock), Joe Simon (Cleopatra Jones movie theme), Mandrill (Fencewalk), The Chakachas (Jungle Fever), and Earth, WInd, and Fire (Evil), to name a few of the 20 songs!!"
