Disappointing - the music overpowers the voices

"I was looking for some "a capella" singing but on this CD all the tracks are accompanied by a Hawaiian guitar combo which in places over powers the music. A lot of the harmonies and features of the music had been cleaned up and sanitized for the western market. Sad really."

"As a big fan of international music, I have to admit that I love Maori music. Anyone who knows about the Maori culture will agree that this is one CD that should be in their music library. These Maori songs talk about their culture, their way of life and nature. There is more to these songs than just listening for voices and/or instruments... it's about KNOWING what the songs mean!"
