"With so many great songs associated with this movie, I had to buy this CD, even as an import. The songs are some of the very best that have been written for Disney. Spoonful of Sugar, Jolly Holiday, Supercalifragilisticexpialidociuos, Stay Awake, Chim Chim Cher-ee, and Let's Go Fly A Kite are staples of Disney that just get stuck in your head, especially because these songs are sop well known. I totally recommend this CD to everyone!"
Lighthearted fun for the family

"After securing a clean sweep (no pun intended) of the Oscars for Best Actress, Best Special Effects, Best Musical Score, and best Song (Chim chim Cher-ee), this 1964 production needs no introduction.Based by a series of books by P.L. Travers (1934), Mary Poppins, the nanny played by Julie Andrews, arrives to inject a sense of fun and social responsibility into two stifled children in a regimented British household. The soundtrack captures Andrew's exuberence and the talented cast of songwriters involved in the film. From the jaunty "supercalifragilisticexpeeledocious", to the dark yet cherry "chim chim cher-ee", and the hauntingly beautiful "feed the birds", this collection is a must have for those wanting to relive the era of the hollywood musical. Unfortunately, something is lost when the songs from the musical are heard outside of the context of the movie. If you already don't have the movie in DVD or VHS, consider purchasing that as well. With the cost of the import, I'd recommend geting the movie instead."
