Mostly Slow Techno

"Maximum Electronica starts out with three terrific songs: the beautifully melancholic "Hyper-Ballad" by Bjork; "Out of Space" by The Prodigy--a fluctuation between spastic beats and Jamaiican/raggae voice samples; and, of course, the surreal, hip "Metronomic Underground (Wagon Christ Mix)" by Stereolab. After track #3, the remaining songs follow the same slow beat and are, at times, unrecognizable from the next. The one exception is Moby's "Feeling So Real", which far surpasses The Prodigy's song speed-wise with full-throttle energy. These two songs save this CD from becoming one of my sleep/white noise CDs.So, if you like slow-pulsing, leisurely techno, then you'll probably enjoy this CD; otherwise, you might want to look elsewhere for speed."
