CD Reviews

Miami Music Conference 2003 - The Place To Be
dimitriis | 06/01/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is the fourth instalment of Miami and like its predecessors it displays a fine selection of (possibly) this year's summer anthems. And with names like Jay J, Kevin Yost, Louie Vega, Oscar G & Ralph Falcon how can you go wrong?
The first disk features some tasty deep house with tracks like "Shake It", "Beat Goes On" (more progressive), the so cool "Keep On Risin", "Feeling" and "Diamond Life" (I bet you will listen to this a lot in the summer). However, if I had to pick a favourite track it would be either "Takin Hold" or "Shout". Both are sooo good.
The second disk is darker than the first one with more tribal and progressive elements and less vocals. Highlights of this disk include "The Boat", the instant classic "Dark Beat", the new remix of "Mission Control" by Ricky Montanari & Davide Ruberto, "Hear What Was Said" (with the interesting vocals) and more. However I think "Plastic Dreams" is slightly out of date here, since it was released years ago and it has already been a summer anthem for many summers. Miami 2003 is definitely a worth-wile buy and very dancefloor-approved. It contains some great new tracks and most songs are good. Disk 1: 4 stars
Disk 2: 4 stars"
