Synopsis

Album Description
The first comprehensive collection of it?s kind to explore the roots of the Electro Bass scene from the eyes of one of its key progenitors, Amos Larkins II. The phenomena started in Miami when Amos accidentally turned the bass knob up on a then new piece of equipment (the Roland 808 drum machine) while recording and discovered a whole new sound. Pretty soon jacked up cars all over Miami were pumping out the tunes at full volume and the rest, as they say, is history. 24Hr. Productions, Amos Larkins II, Amos Larkins III, Peter Rock, Leon Green, T. Green, MCB, MC. Stax, W. Scott, W. Sims, The Megatrons, Willie Wong, R. Lewis, IMPORT #1, and Alonzo Lewis - these names were found on the first Miami bass records as either writers, producers or performers. This "crew" was majorly responsible for creating the Miami bass movement and are part and parcel of the initial inspiration that ultimately revolutionized the scene. All these names are aliases for one person ? musician, producer, performer, writer ? Amos Larkins II. All the big hits are represented here including "Set It Off", "Rock The Planet", "Funky Little Beat" and the HOLY GRAIL of the Electro Bass scene ? "Never Gonna Stop". A second CD of instrumentals for the discriminating sampler is included as a special bonus. We are not responsible for any blown speakers as a result of listening to this explosive comp.
