"The CD's title is a bit presumptuous. After all, all but two of these songs ("The Worst That Could Happen" and "Midnight Train To Georgia") were recorded between 1956 and 1965. How can ten years represent the best of the millennium? But once you get past that, Collectables has put together some terrific songs.Nearly a third of these tracks are doo-wop classics, including the first three songs on this set. Ten of these singles (6, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18, 19, 22 and 25) sold more than a million copies each. Fifteen of these singles (2, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 24 and 25) were included in music critic Dave Marsh's book The 1001 Greatest Singles Ever Made. The sound is very good, but there is no accompanying booklet. All you get is a list of song titles, the artist and the name of the record label Collectables licensed these songs from. But you also get nearly 70 minutes of some of the best music of the early rock 'n' roll era--even if it's not a very complete history. If these songs aren't already in your music library, this is an excellent way to correct that omission. RECOMMENDED"
