"There are no credits that can tell us who played these songs, and in what year. But I already had a couple of the songs on some 1970's "classical" style belly dance albums, so probably they are from that era (the ones where the dancers wore high heels when they danced!). Lush orchestration, fit for cabaret style. But don't look for heavy ethnic instrumentation; there are no zills or zaghareets. There was a good variety of rhythms, a couple of my favorites actually change tempo mid-song, which is very effective for performances. Some good veil work music. No vocals, instrumental only. None of the songs are very long, so one could map a whole routine from this CD, or if you just need a short, snappy performance. It's a fun CD if you have a soft spot for the old 1970's belly dance stuff, or if you are new, and want to start out with something easy."
