American sound artist & composer, Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being, has pushed the boundaries of electronic music through his work on a variety of labels including Sony Europe, Jeff Mills' Axis/6277, Ghostly International's Spectral Sound, Eargasmic Recordings, Crème Organization, and Klang Elektronik. More importantly, in 1996 and after several years of studying the science and elements of sound, Mr. Moss created his innovative imprint Mathematics Recordings. Mathematics releases the kind of freeform flowing electronic compositions that have made this label known as one of the most forward thinking imprints in the world. Here on "Music From Mathematics", the Hieroglyphic Being compiles some of the label's favorites for its first full length compilation. With work from the legendary Jack Frost aka Adonis, Steve Poindexter, Ed DMX aka DMX Krew, Contra Communem Opinionem, the label boss himself, and others, it's safe to say that this is not your typical compilation - but rather an essay of what the Mathematics camp has researched so far.
