"I just so happen to see this album at a local CD store in Madison, after being intrigued by the eye-grabbing lotus-like album cover. Boy was this an awesome CD or what? This has got to be one of the best upbeat 'new' CDs that I've heard in many years. In fact, I could argue that this may be the best collection of various artists music that I've heard in years.

New Sound Theory Vol. 4 (I have not heard nor seen the other three as of writing this) beings together a kaleidascope of Brazilian Bossa NOva, Jazz, pop, lounge pop, and electronica all onto one incredible album. This album has lots of similarities to Pat Metheny (We Live Here style), and even reminds me somewhat of what Sergio Mendes would create these days. No offense to "Timeless".

"Free Your Spirit" is a beautifully crafted song with haunting vocals, a beautiful saxophone, great melody, and a groovy rhythm that you can't help but enjoy. Others favorites include the near-danceable "Hit Baby", "Le Spinner", "sONG For Maggie" and the closing track "The Closing Side". Though too upbeat to be considered a 'chillout' collection, "New Sound Theory 4" has got to be among the best CD purchases I've made in years! Highly recommended!"
