"Yay! After purchasing a pile of CD's for kids, this is the first one I can stand. You dont have to be a jazz fan to appreciate the original quality of these recordings. These are original recordings, not "watered down" versions for kids. Definitely get the book as well! "Nicky the Jazz Cat" which has beautiful pictures of the musicians."
Fantastic CD that the whole family will love!

"We bought this cd for my daughter for Christmas and she absolutlely loves it. In fact, after the first listening the whole family was singing along and even humming the tunes when it wasn't playing. You couldn't ask for a more impressive roster of artists, and the songs are truly enjoyable for all ages. Particularly great are, Chew, Chew, Chew (Chew Your Bubblegum), Everybody Eats When They Come to My House, and Ki Mo Ky Mo. Let's face it, our kids are getting less and less exposure to any kind of authentic music these days. Here's an antidote to Disney radio, and the latest Britney Spears clone. And for God's sake, turn off the DVD player and have them engage some other part of their brain when you're on the road. Our 9-hour Christmas commute was filled with music, reading aloud, story-writing, games, and...wait for it...actually talking to each other. That's right, we kept the DVD player off, and the family survived...happily. Give it, and this CD a try."
One of the most under rated cd's on the market

"This cd has won awards and delighted anyone who has listened. Why it isn't a requirement for kids learning about music, especially in the US where Jazz became Jazz, is beyond me. Perfectly charming songs from the best of the best who made Jazz, lots of passionate Jazz."
Wish there were volumes 2, 3 and 4!!
