"I'd like to begin this double CD review by saying that if you like/love the following: Bossa Nova / Brazilian Jazz / Brazilian Music and/or Great Music in general, you need to add this superlative collage to your CD collection.
This selection was chosen and put together by Ruy Castro, famous and successful writer who specializes in Bossa Nova and Brazilian Music in general.
Here Ruy has the opportunity to musically display the great music he writes about in his books; music that has been meticulously chosen from the past 5 decades 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's, and music that is without a single doubt, a superb collection.
Actually many of these cuts are now rare, and no longer available in their original albums like: Emilio Santiago's version of Tristeza de Nos Dois, among many others.
Procure a copy for yourself while still available !!!!!!"

"This is a very good and very atypical bossa nova retrospective, songs selected by music journalist Ruy Castro. This disc is intended as an audio companion to his excellent book, "Bossa Nova" (originally titled "Chega De Saudade," in Portuguese), and to the as-yet untranslated sequel, "A Onda Que Se Ergueu No Mar," a history of bossa nova music in the 1970s and beyond. Both books, and this album, are well worth picking up."
