"I brought this soundtrack with very high expectations, maybe that's where i messed up. I was at home listening to it, when all a sudden i realized i didnt like the CD. I was wigged out. I took a Metal crow bar to my entertainment center. Then Began running around screaming at everyone in my house because i was Engaged about the extreamly disappointing cd. I decided to give the cd a second chance to please me on my way to work....Yet again i flipped out and began Swearing at everyone at the office, then i took a trash can and threw it against the wall.....Once i arrived home to started screaming again for 3 hours......Then, i decided to go to the bar and have about 8 double black jacks and joke to calm my nerves...."

"This CD captures the feeling of the movie perfectly. The score of Richard Hartley is fantastic and I find can be listened to many times without sounding stale. It also introduced me to TWO of my now favorite bands. The movie and this album contain the track Spybreak! by the Propellerheads which was LONG before it was ever infamously used in THE MATRIX and even before the Propellerheads had released an album of their own. It also has the beautiful track TRIGGER HIPPIE by Morcheeba who at the time were hardly known and had inly released on album. Both these bands took off and have HUGE fan followings, I consider myself lucky and thankful to have been aware of these two bands from sooo long ago and all thanks to this soundtrack...if only more people had seen the film then I could hope for a special edition DVD. The only track I was not too keen on was the Rap Track but the rest of the album is top notch. It even has linear notes discussing what the Director of the film was looking for when it came time to choose music, a nice touch I wish more soundtracks would have."

"Given the very fact that one year after seeing the movie the impact of the music is still with me, enough to incite finally buying the CD soundtrack, should be recommendation enough to buy the CD for yourself. The beat drives, excites. The sound successfully captures Andy Wilson's (director) goal to depict a "post modernistic retro-70s vision of the LA underworld" (quoted from CD jacket).My favorite tracks--the majority of the CD--are moody, driven and sometimes mystical electronica. Equally enjoyable are the jazz and blues tracks that coax a dark and cool cocktail lounge atmosphere. My only reservation was the rap track--I liked the sound and beat, but the lyrics were too harsh for my taste. In all fairness, given the movie's subject matter and setting, this track is appropriate. Just be sure to turn down the volume to avoid offending your neighbors.Overall, a great collection of music to get you revved up in the morning or prepped for a sultry evening out."
