"30 CD's 60 mystery shows from 20 different series makes this box set one hell of a collection. If you love old time radio mysteries you will relish this gem. I spent the last two months glued to my CD player being entertained. The folks at Radio Spirits have done an excellent job in collecting some of the best audio drama from years gone by and put them in this one box set. The plays here are full of chills and thrills not to mention twist endings and some are down right terrifying. There are 20 different series presented here including, "Suspense" The Sealed Book" " The Whistler" " The weird Circle" " murder at Midnight" and the list goes on. A portion of the plays here fall under the supernatural category. What was fascinating for me that a few of the stories could be argued that they were precursors of some of the most famous horror films of today. "Ghost Hunter" easily could be a precursor to "the Blair Witch Project." "On a country Road" a precursor to "Friday the 13th" I could go on. They were simply amazing to listen to. One however stands out from all the rest, though nearly all were brilliant. "Death Spins a Web" from the "The Sealed Book" series has got to be the best written suspense play I have ever heard. It was a shocker till the end. Well crafted with a tight plot. When you listen to it, you will know what I mean. Of course there are a few duds in this set but only a few. Your money will be well spent if you purchase this box set and you will have a bit of radio history in your library. This CD set is the same as "old time Radio's Greatest Mysteries" which is on cassette. There is no difference even though Amazon lists them as such. .... I hope to discover more box sets like this one. Buy it, turn off the lights and pop in the first disk. you'll soon begin to feel a shiver down your spine."
