"The red hot organization has put out a number of these compilation albums from virtually every music group. This album is a sampling of CLASSIC free jazz from such jazz greats as Pharoah Sanders, Charles Mingus, Oliver Nelson... and oh yes, that Coltrane guy. This is an excellent album for relaxation and meditation. It starts out with the hypnotic Journey into Satchidananda by Alice Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders, here the both of them make absolutely wondefully beautiful music together. Pharoah Sanders appears on no less than 4 of the 11 cuts on the album all of them classic. From opening tune to the, melodic the creator has a master plan ,to the subline Astral Traveling, to the rhythmic upper egypt and lower egypt. Also on their album are wonderful jazz classics like Oliver Nelsons Stolen Moments and Max Roach' Garvey's Ghost. There's even two versions of a ove supreme one by Alice Coletrane another by the great John Coltrane. But Alas at this juncture this album is out of print. A shame because it has some extremely hard to find music, making this a definite must for any fan of jazz. But if you can find this anywhere please pick it up. It's well worth it!"
