The track listing reads like a who's who of the nu-metal genre, with brand-new songs from chart toppers including Godsmack, Creed, and Nickelback. Especially strong are System of a Down's orchestrated-meets-intense "Stream... more »line," Sevendust's fervent and unique "Corrected," and Nickelback's raucous, edgy, raw rocker "Yanking Out My Heart," while Creed's typically musically morose five-minute ballad "To Whom It May Concern" will certainly delight fans. New band 12 Stones show promise with their straightahead, guitar-heavy "My Life," while Flaw's layered, soaring, and mesmerizing "Only the Strong" sounds hit-bound, as does Injected's vibrant "Burn It Black." As with Godsmack, Mushroomhead's contribution was penned specially for the movie, the suitably "soundtracky" audio track "turned down" to suit the onscreen action. If the flick--the third of the Mummy series--fades from memory quickly, its musical accompaniment is well equipped to stand the test of time. --Katherine Turman« less

A Must Have Soundtrack!

(5 out of 5 stars)
"This soundtrack is probally one of the best out there. The mixture of bands is amazing. The only thing that it is really missing is either Korn or Adema to wrap it all up. There really is not a track on here that should not be there. Here's a quick breakdown of the songs.1. Godsmack - I Stand Alone - Really needs no explanation, huge radio hit and it's Godsmack (Need I say more?) Probally the third best on the CD.5/52. P.O.D. - Set It Off (Tweaker Remix) - Not as good as the original song, but still a very good song by itself. 4/53. Drowning Pool - Break You - Very well written song, probally better then Drowning Pool's other singles. The second best song on the CD. 5/54. System Of A Down - Streamline - I was completly blown away by how well written this song was. Not the typical System Of A Down, but still very good. 5/55. Creed - to Whom It May Concern - In my opinion the weakest song on the whole soundtrack. It lacks the intensity of the other songs. Although I'm not a big Creed fan it still was not a bad song. 4/56. Nickelback - Yanking Out My Heart - Another great song by Nickelback, it shows the heavier side of the band. Can get a little repetitive though. 4/57. Hoobastank - Losing My Grip - A big surprise for me, Hoobstank has written a very good song, excellent lyrics and very good guitar backrounds bring this song together. 5/58. Flaw - Only The Strong - A very powerful song the guitar and lyric combination is incredible, mesmerizing and very catchy. Although it isn't as good as "Payback" it is an excellent song by itself. I can't even count the number of times that I've listened to this song. 5/59. Rob Zombie feat. Ozzy Osbourne - Ironhead - I was most unsure about this track when I first got the CD. But after listening to it once I fell in love with it. Tied for second best on the album. 5/510. 12 Stones - My Life - An extremely talented new band, I can't wait for their first CD to come out. 5/511. Mushroomhead - Along The Way - The Cleveland band that made it big this past year. I've followed them for a little while and always loved their music. This song is no different, the lyrics blend with the guitar perfectly. And for those of you who don't like the singing in this song, well, all I can say is, you are not a true Metal fan. 5/512. Lifer - Breathless - A band who I had never heard of, but was pretty impressed with. They came out pretty well on this album. 4/513. Sevendust - Corrected - Another great Sevendust song. Intense and well written, this is another highlight of the album. In my opinion this is the best song on the CD. 5/514. Injected - Burn It Black - A great song by Injected. Intense and catchy at the same time. 4/515. Breaking Point - 27 - Kinda out of place with its "punky" guitar, but still a good song. 4/516. Coal Chamber - Glow - A haunting song with beautifuly done lyrics and guitars. Another gem of a song on this CD. 5/5All in all there are no weak points in the CD and I would have to say it is the best soundtrack released this year."
Really good compilation

"...The soundtrack is really good. There is not a bad song on there. Here is my opinion of each song:
1. Godsmack - Already a big radio hit. It is one of the best on the disc (5/5).
2. P.O.D. - I hate this band, but this is a decent song. I can actually tolerate it. INFINITE PRAISES TO TWEAKER on the mix. (4/5)
3. Drowning Pool - This song could be a big radio hit if released. I think it is better than any of their three singles. (5/5)
4. System Of A Down - A new song that I think should have made their "Toxicity" album. I really love the transitions from fast to slow in the song. Again, it could be a big hit. (5/5)
5. Creed - A previously import only song. This makes for the worst song on the disc. I would have kept it off...(3/5)
6. Nickelback - Too classic southern rock for me. Canadian hicks still make a decent song here. (3/5)
7. Hoobastank - Should have made the album. This is a really good song. (5/5)
8. Flaw - A non-original song. There are better on Flaw's album, but this is still a good song. I recommend "Through The Eyes" by Flaw if you like this song. (4/5)
9. Rob Zombie / Ozzy - Look at the artists: need I say more? The song kicks a$$. (5/5)
10. 12 Stones - New band. This band really impressed me with their sheer talent. They sound vaguely like Creed, but much better. A very good guitar solo to boot. 2nd best song on the disc. (5/5)
11. Mushroomhead - Written specifically for the movie, my guess is that it will be the third single from the disc (Lifer is going to hit the radio soon). I really love this song. I recommend the Mushroomhead disc "XX". (5/5)
12. Lifer - They sound good, but I don't like the singer. (4/5)
13. Sevendust - Another very good song. A cool intro. Hard and melodic at the same time. The strings in the chorus add a whold new dimension to the song. (5/5)
14. Injected - Decent song, but their single "Faithless" is better (not by much, though). There is a good solo in there, though. (4/5)
15. Breaking Point - This is a very good song as well. The singer sounds weird, like George Michael. The song sounds pretty good, though. (4/5)
16. Coal Chamber - What a way to end this! The singer sounds cool. The song reminds me of Fear Factory. (5/5)
All in all, BUY THIS DISC. IT IS WORTH THE MONEY."
This is a REALLY impressive soundtrack collection!!!

"Wow! I picked this up yesterday after drooling all over the back-cover song list and seeing that I was at least somewhat familiar with 13 of the 16 acts that contributed to this CD. Godsmack's "I Stand Alone" by itself makes this worth having, but the excellent songs by Lifer, Flaw, P.O.D., Rob Zombie (with Ozzy!!, Sevendust and Mushroomhead (check out their "XX" CD!!! ...they are aMaZiNg!!) make this a standout collection! Unlike a lot of soundtracks where the songs sound a collection of bad B-Sides, this is certainly an exception to the rule. ..."
Best... Soundtrack... EVAR!!!

"I bought this CD abput a year ago, and I loved it. It has a bunch of bands that I cannot get enough of like Godsmack, POD, Sevendust, Rob Zombie/Ozzy Osbourne, and System of a down.
This CD also has a bunch of bands i have never heard of, and now I go to there concerts in Colorado. Like Lifer, Coal CHamber, and Mushroomhead. I really love this CD. It manages to stay very hard, and has a very melodic sound to it. It has made me love many bands like Godsmack. I didn't like them until I heard "I Stand Alone." Now onto my track review."I Stand Alone"-Godsmack 10/10- Awesome song. This song is the whole reason I bought this CD. I saw the music video oon MTV (magnificent video BTW) and i fell in love. Truly wonderful."Set it Off (tweaker Remix)"-POD 8/10- Not the best song. Don't get me wrong, i love it. But i love it better on Satilite."Break You"-Drowning Pool 2/10- No. Drowning Pool at their worst."Streamline"-System of a Down 9/10- I truly do ove this song. It manages to be really fast and mellow at the same time. Beautiful."To Whoom it May Concern"-Creed 3/10- I can't stand this song."Yanking Out my Heart"-Nickleback 7/10- Not a bad song. Nice and hard."Losing my Grip"-Hoobastank 9/10- I loathed this song in the beginning, but when I got past the 'NSYNC part i truly loved it."Only the Strong"-Flaw 7/10- I tend not to like the slower songs, but this one manages a 7. Gets a little repitive, though..."Iron Head"-Rob Zombie feat, Ozzy Osbourne 10/10- I love this song. It made me come to like Zombie. Hard, hard to understand. Perfect combo."My life"-12 Stones 8/10- slow, but in the end nice."Along the Way"-Mushroomhead 8/10- I like the drums in the beginning. It's nice anmd fast (the song)."Breathless"-Lifer 10/10- I've naver heard of Lifer, but i do like the guitars in this song. People may not like like them in the end, but live they are great in the moshpit."Corrected"-Sevendust 10/10- I really love the bass in this song. Reminds me of Animosity."Burn it Black"-Injected 1/10- OH MY GOD!!! TURN IT OFF!!!"27"-Breaking Point 9/10- Another band I haven't heard of. I like this song, though."Glow"-Coal Chamber 9/10- Not bad. Aewsome live.In Conclusion, this CD earns 5 stars. It more than deserves it. One of the best CDs you can buy. If you haven't already bought it after reading this, then I will pray for you."
