"You can listen to this mix from start to finish, pump it in your car.. its a bunch of good freestyle classics. This compilation is mixed, if you want a non-mixed compilation look for Thump Records Freestyle Explosion series. But if you're looking for a good mix of classics this is it."

"Freestyle was one of the 1980's greatest musical styles, and while many who lived in an area covered with nightclubs became familiar with the many artists that came out of the boom it saw during that decade, others were totally clueless about an up and coming musical force. Originating in the Bronx, freestyle was a blend of dance and Latin rhythm that shook New York's club world from head to toe. Thanks to this musical style, many artists such as George Lamond, TKA, Expose, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Noel, Sweet Sensation, Brenda K. Starr, and Safire were introduced to the world of music. While many scored number one hits, others faded into the darkness, only to see their careers revived as salsa singers during the Latin boom of 1999."Shut Up and Dance: The Best of Freestyle II" is a collection of some of the best artists on one disc. The compilation starts off with the Miami chart-topping trio of Expose and their hit "Exposed to Love."
