"This is the party of the yea-yah. Vincenzo goes for the deep, deep end of the house pool and comes up with a pearl for the ladies. Building on the momentum of his incredible contributions to Dessous' "Erotic moments in house" CD, from last year, "Strip Joint Grooves" unleashes the smoothest "bourbon and milk" house vibe to date. Aptly titled; this long-player works equally well on the dance floor or the bedroom. Vinnie can do no wrong as he runs the gauntlet of deconstructed dance formulas from funk to house to disco, breaking out into the occasional batacuda breakdown or conga line. While the compilation seeps with old school disco and house references, from Super-Fly to Frankie Knuckles, the production puts it firmly in the techno-future. Attitude is everything, and Vincenzo's veneration is pure respect, never descending into kitsch or self-indulgent appropriations that plague so much of the genre. The vocals and samples are all so tasteful; everything is subjugated to the seamless mix and all-embracing rhythms. Even a cell-phone sample sounds good at this depth. And the guys got XXXXs - he pulls off a Barry White sound-a-like and makes it real! How did this little German get s-ooh funky?"
