Good Offering But ...

"The "Have A Nice Day-Super Hits Of The Seventies" series put out by Rhino is a decent collection of 70's pop tunes and hard to find singles .. that's where it ends however. Most of the songs are certified hits but quite a few are either "filler" , "wannabe's" or "obscure".The biggest complaint however is how "CHEAP" Rhino got by only putting "12" songs on each disc ! HELLO ? This is the year 2000 not 1970 ! In case Rhino doesn't realize , you can get almost "80" minutes on a CD today ! But then of course they could not RIP YOU OFF and it would have shrunk their profit margin. The sound is great and some of the material has appeared on CD for the first time but nevertheless a disappointment - If Rhino had used the space on the discs more wisely I would have given this a 5 star rating - This goes for the entire series not just volumes 1-4 ..."

"Don't waste you time or money on this one. A much better purchase is the 7 CD box set "Have a Nice Decade" produced by Rhino Records. I've taken this set to several parties and my friends can't get enought of it."
The Songs You Can't Forget Even If You Want To

"Many of the songs in this set were huge hits from the 70's with some No. 1's included. These are songs you listen to and sing along with . Besides its our responibility to carry on this music because hardly any radio station plays these songs.More Today than Yesterday a pure pop classic.Spirit In The Sky is a rocking gospel number. Ray Price will slow you reeaal down with For The Good Times but Mark Lindsay brings you right back up with Arizona and Silver Bird. If you want to here what the 1970's Top 40 sounded like I strongly recommend this collection. Its got everthing but the Casey Kasem long distance dedication in it."
This is the best 70's collection you will find.

"If you were listening to the radio a lot in the 70's, this collection will bring back all those good memories. This series from vol. 1 to vol. 25 has all the hits throughout the 70's. There are a "ton" songs you haven't heard for over 20 years and have forgotten about. When you hear these songs you yell out "I love that song"!. If you didn't listen to the radio a lot from the years of 1970 to 1979, there will be some songs you won't remember. But if music was your life back then, you will want to buy two sets. One for the car and one for the home."

"I agree that not all of these tunes are favorites of mine but,to find songs like"Baby It's You" and "Lay Down(Candles in the Rain)" is worth buying the 4 cd set to get access to these great songs that no radio station plays any more."
