CD Reviews

Solid series, solid album
tiana | 05/03/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you've been fortunate enough to attend any of the All Tomorrow's Parties Festivals, you have some idea of what you're in for with this album. The goal is to showcase each curator's favorite artists, and leads to some interesting combinations. Not everyone likes this variance, and if you're looking for a bunch of artists that sound like the curator, this series probably isn't for you. If the curator is someone you like, however, it can be fascinating to see what influences them.

Also - this IS NOT the Sonic Youth curated ATP 1.1 which was in Los Angeles in 2002. Note the big "UK" on the cover. Sonic Youth did later co-curate with Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks at Camber Sands in 2004, after this was released."
