Synopsis

Product Description
The 1920s and '30s were the heyday of piano duos, both in the U. S. and abroad. Elegant hotels frequently featured duettists; dance bands regularly arranged the rest of the stage instruments around two large grand pianos; and concert halls scheduled duo recitals, both classical and popular. This CD presents over two dozen rare novelty piano duo recordings made in the U. S. , the U. K. , France, and Australia. Most are being reissued here for the first time. A 16 page booklet is also included with liner notes by renowned novelty piano expert Alex Hassan and many rarephotographs. Recorded 1925-1940. 26 tracks, 78 minutes. Tracks include: Nola, Kitten on the Keys, Lucky Kentucky, If You Knew Susie.
