A good blend of commercial hits, filter disco and electro

"Much better than horrendously boring Ultra Weekend 1, this volume in the series features a good number of hard-to-find mixes on CD.
Disc 1 is predominantly remixes of pop songs segued into radio dance hits. There's unreleased mixes of Kelly Clarkson, Coldplay and Natasha Bedingfield (her older track though), and a hot remix of Fall Out Boys. The only oddity is the clunky remix of the incredibly old Killers hit "Somebody Told Me," which just doesn't flow well in this mix.
Disc 2 begins with filter disco and disco house--a lot of really catchy upbeat dance tracks with a summer feel, including the very pumpin Dancin by Aaron Smith. It segues into electro house with a retro feel, including the remake of Message in a Bottle (which features a great Sting sound-alike), Ferry Corsten's "Fire" which has a Duran Duran vocal sound, and the brilliant Cicada remix of "Munich" by the Editors, which captures the essence of the 80s new wave sound and makes it modern.
A perfect collection for the casual listener looking for a thumping dance mix, Ultra Weekend 2 also includes some fairly long versions of unreleased dance mixes for serious collectors.

"While the CD may not be the best mix-wise, it contains some great tracks... most notably #8 on CD2, Starkillers Diskoteka which I have not been able to find anywhere else at the moment. Peter Rauhofer has a mix of this song out, but I prefer this mix. Fall Out boy's Dance Dance sounds good at this tempo, but the mix is a bit shoddy... you can hear it miss in spots. Personally I don't care to hear another Coldplay tune as long as I live, but this mix is endurable. Unfortunately one of the lowest spots on this dics is the mix of The Killer's Somebody Told Me.... too much bass, the great guitar work on the original has been replaced with some stale riffs on here... it picks up from there, though, with the notable Oakey remix of Madonna's sorry... this is available on several compilation albums currently out. Kiss the Sky is banging also. That and Stunt's Raindrops are the best cuts on this first disc.
CD 2 is a much better cut for me, with less of pop's shooting stars and some tracks I will want to hear for some time to come. Dancin', Feels Good, Discoteka, Ooh La La.... now these songs are what summer compilations should be made from.
I recommend purchasing this album on the strength of CD 2 alone."

"Well...CD1 starts of with 6 Pop/Rock songs remixed into dance songs...they're ok...then the tempo rises with Stunt...and same old same old Cascada's "Everytime We Touch"...CD1 is ok..pretty mainstream i would say...
CD2 is better...with hot House/Disco anthems...highlights would be Olav Basoski's "Waterman"...Morrison "Love of My Life"...my favorite S.O.S. by Filterfunk (what a great song!) ooohh Chanel's "My Life" that is verly growing in me...it's a good song...Editors "Munich" is smooth...with a nice bouncy rythm...the CD ends in Electro style with Ferry Corsten's criticized "Fire" which doesn't bother me at all...and Goldfrapps top hit Ooh La la...but Benassi's mix of it is kinda annyonig...
overall pretty good Compilation!"
