CD Reviews

To twig_42..

"One thing twig_42, solitude71 did not insult Korn and I don't recall even reading a word of nu-metal he said. But besides that I'm guessing that you're 14, and you probably don't know half of the bands he was talking about, Dark Tranquility is a melodic black metal band and In Flames is a melodic death metal just in case you didn't know that... And please, reviews are for reviewing music not to ditching people. Please... grow up...As for this album,, not everyone finds it is enjoyable especially if you're not into black/death metal or you used to the "lighter" screaming of nu-metal. I'm sorry, but I found this band is much more melodic than Korn, they're just not my type of music. Now leave us hardcore death/black metal fans alone..."
Perfect blend of melody and aggression with killer drums!

"This album is more aggressive and modern than their previous album "The Nude Ballet". It has killer melodies and the vocals are for the most part high quality screaming, but also some midrange growling and some "clean". The bass and drums is really cool and Dynamic, especially worth mentioning is the original use of cymbals.

The romantic/erotic love/hate theme they had on the previous album is not present here. Here it is more about "Whenever I scream I break inside" and "Succumb your inferior fright - Razorblades" and stuff like that. It is dark and personal lyrics it seems, that are very open for interpretation.

The production is massive and heavy, and the music is varied enough to make it interesting through the whole album. It is not the same kind of riffing and tempo all the time, like some bands tend to do.

A really good album if you like the Gothenburg sound, and want it heavy and modern without being nu-metal, and with some originality. If you like In Flames, Soilwork, At The gates, Arch enemy and these kind of bands I am pretty sure you will like this album!"
Wonderful

"Don't let the words "Danish death metal band" in the album description intimidate you. This is by far better than any Nordic clone band that sounds like a 3rd quality copy of In Flames. As far as I saw in a picture these guys seem adult enough not to wear stupid clown masks, facepaint and carry axes to be a death metal band. The music is also awesome. Has the feel of early Pantera and Metallica but is in the same league as Dark Tranquillity. In fact if you like DT or early In Flames don't miss WS. There is only one bad thing that can be said: the album is too short but then you can always replay."
