"The Pixies are such a great band that they don't even need a tribute album, but I jumped at the chance to get this since so many of my favorite bands (Weezer, Far, Sense Field, Nada Surf, Local H etc) are included on it. And I am glad I did! I'm psyched about hearing a new Weezer track (albeit a cover) since they haven't put anything out for such a long time, and as usual they didn't disappoint. (And it's cool that they put a twist on the original "Velouria" instead of playing it note-for-note cause that would of been boring) Far's take on "Monkey Gone to Heaven" is amazing, in an eerie sort of way. And the Promise Ring are great as usual. I only wish such other Pixies classics as "Debaser" and "Bone Machine" were covered (the latter is without a doubt my favorite Pixies cut) but I guess maybe it's better they went untouched, cause they could have been messed up. But this is the next best thing to a new Pixies record and they only alternative, cause they've gone the way of the dodo."

"I'll be honest, the only reason I bought this CD was for the Weezer cover. Being a huge Weez fan, I figured I should get it not only for them, but so I could get to know about this band who has influenced them so much. I loved this CD so much that I bought every one of The Pixies CD's I could get my greedy lil' hands on. Once I heard the original versions of all 15 songs, I found that it gave me a greater appreciation of the work all the artists on this album did. A lot of them really lived up to the legacy The Pixies created when they first jumped into the spotlight. Anyone who likes The Pixies (and can appreciate different perspectives), this is definitely a CD for you. And if you feel it isn't, then you should send your copy to me because I just can't get enough of it. :)"
Where is My Mind? Not bad, not bad at all.

"I've been a Pixies fan for a while now. First off, I am also a Weezer fan. I saw them in Detroit a few months back. But their cover of "Velouria" is simply not the best track on this album, as many claim. The original had an energy that the cover lacks. The better tracks are "Gouge Away" by Promise Ring, "Where is My Mind" by Nada Surf (musically better, but not better than the original by any stretch of the imagination) and, gulp, "Gigantic" by Reel Big Fish. I know, it's different, but cool in it's own right. Other notables include "Alec Eiffel" by The Get Up Kids and "Trompe Le Monde" by Braid. Do yourself a favor and buy everything ever released by the Pixies first, then get this to top it off. They are by far my favorite band. Rock."

"Three stars -- some of the songs here are terrible. (Curse you, Far.)However, some are pretty cool: Get Up Kid's Alec Eiffel is pretty neat, and my favorite is Sense Field's cover of Caribou. All in all, not utterly terrible (As I expected it to be). Even REAL PIXIES FANS can enjoy this once they get off their high horse."
