"Ms. Lavin recommended this updated version of her earlier "On a Winter's Night". Sorry Christine but I think the original was much better. Better recordings and a nicer balance of music in my opinion. If you have the choice, buy the original."

"I heard about this wonderful 20 song folk collection from XM Radio's Folk Channel, The Village. This is definite addition for folk fans and people who enjoy strongly evocative seasonal music. The collection is made up of 20 songs taking up about 1.2 hours' worth of listening.
Some favorites:
"Secret Garden" is a wonderful showcase for Judy Collins' near flawless voice. The imagery in this song sparkles like icicles in sunshine.
"Last Night" by Lynn Miles details what changes precipitation wreaks on a sleepy little town. Miles is a new artist to me and I very much enjoy her voice and instrumentation.
"Remember When We Were Just Friends" by Annie Bauerlein and Chip Mercott talks about that stage of attraction just before you acknowledge you are in love.
"Lancelot's Theme" by Buskin and Batteau was what got me to buy this CD and it's still a favorite with the graceful swirling strings reminding me of bird's flight.
The whole collection is well worth listening to. If you love beautiful folk music, you're going to enjoy this CD. Of course, I'm going to see if I can find if there's three more seasons to listen to.

"Music that warms the heart no matter how many times you listen. I bring it out around the first nasty day and it lifts my spirits all winter long."
